Computer Engineer’s log, stardate 60802.7,
I took part in a prolonged away mission today along with about 200 other cadets. We gathered under the big I where we were issued our com devices and sat through presentations given by Starfleet’s administrative staff. Around noon I was shown to my new quarters aboard the vessel. Cozy place though I can’t help but feel that a window would have added to its allure…
Ok so I’m out of ideas and I can’t continue on like that any longer. In any case, today was my first day of work as an intern at IBM. I have been itching to get to some coding/programming/any work since I moved here 5 days ago. Unfortunately since it was the first day, all 200 or so new interns / co op students were herded along from station to station to get through all the boring administrative stuff. I say boring but that’s the nature of the information presented to us. It’s not the presenter’s faults, the topics are important, but they’re the important yet highly uninteresting kind.
Finally around noon we got to the GOOD stuff, not the OK stuff. We all got to meet our contact/mentor person while at IBM. He took me on a little tour of our wing and introduced me to the team members, the people I will be working with for the next little while. We chatted about the job, and what I would have to do and such while we ate lunch after which it was time to say adieu and re enter the amphitheatre DUM DUM DUM…. The afternoon progressed (much slower) like the morning. Presentations from different administrative departments as well the student club and that was about it for the ol’ jobaroo.
I got home and watched my ONE TREE HILL which I’m so hooked on right now. I’m watching the back episodes trying to catch up to the series since I haven’t watched it since my days at UWO. I’m working my way through Season 2 right now, after finishing season 1 in a day (yeah I know, I need a life; luckily the job should keep me occupied but the weekend is here…)Â I also just HAD to watch the latest Jericho episode and it was sooo gooood. I don’t know what I’m going to do after the season ends next week. I guess I’ll have my OTH but after that…until July 10th when Eureka returns? What am I going to do? I might actually have to go OUTSIDE…ugh perish the thought.

2. Really… Computer Engineer, eh? When did you suddenly become a P. Eng.?
Well they gave you a ring, it was obvious the next step was for me to be made P E G (Professional Engineer of the Galaxy).
