If you had purchased $1000 of Delta Air Lines stock you would have $49.00 left.

But, if you had purchased $1,000.00 worth of beer/wine one year ago, drank all the beer/wine, then turned in the cans/bottles for the recycling REFUND, you would have had $214.00.

Based on the above, the best current investment advice is to Drink and Recycle.

It alludes to the hot situation (pun intended) Dell found itself a couple of years back when its machines were spontaneously combusting.

After stories of homes and trucks (video link) being destroyed by fires caused by overheating batteries, Dell recalled 4.1 million lithium-ion batteries. While I was working at Staples (which was during this recall), the joke in the tech department was that fire extinguishers were being offered as accessories.

To be fair, Dell isn’t the only company plagued by overheating batteries and components though its story is the first one that comes to mind whenever I hear of laptops suffering from overheating problems.
