Melville Hall Airport has one 4,777 ft runway running east to west. This Dominican Republic airport offers a great sea view at one end of its runway and some rough terrain at the other. It is the kind of place where going off the end of the runway can end up in a swim or worse.
Kieran Daly over at Unusual Attitude posted a couple of videos of a Boeing 727-200F plane landing at Melville Hall. The first is the view from the cockpit on approach and during the landing while the second is taken from a point close to the airport and shows a Boeing approach and land at the airport.

I think I just found my new flight sim destination. Enjoy the videos!
I realize this happened because of the different times the pictures were taken at. It’s still cool to see them.

Yesterday my family celebrated my grandmas 75th birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY, GRANDMA!). We went to the Mandarin in Hamilton since my family absolutely loves Chinese buffets.

After the restaurant I decided to give my mom and grandma a tour of the Piper Cherokee so that they can see exactly what it is I’m flying. After I gave them a “walk around” (which I do before I even get in the plane, every single time, we took some pictures (I’ve added them to my CYHM flickr set):
C-FTDS was our gracious host for the day.

My grandma, myself and my mom with FTDS and a Cargojet behind us.

I asked them if seeing the plane has put their minds at ease about my flight lessons but unfortunately it did not. Oh well, it was worth a shot!
Check out my CYHM set for other pics from John C Munro Hamilton International Airport.
