It’s been a long time since I’ve written here, about a month or so. Exams took over in April so I didn’t get a chance to write…well at all.
A lot has happened in the past month though:
- I’ve finished my fourth year of computer engineering and management (only 2 more to go [long story about why 2 instead of 1] and I’ll have my degree!)
- My contract with IBM ended after two years with them
- I am now working an IT & Web Development job for a small company near Hamilton
- I’ve had minor surgery on my foot and it’s healing up nicely
- I’ve signed up for flight lessons with the Brantford Flying Club
- I’ve started reviewing ground school and flight lesson briefings in preparation for the PPL written test
- I attended the Canadian Aviation Expo at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum
I have a few posts lined up for the next month. Among them:
- My Flight Sim Setup
- A series on ground school material (as I review it I plan to write up about it and get your input)
- Some pictures from the Canadian Aviation Expo
- A revisit of my post on whether or not planes would take off from a conveyor belt
- much more!
Let’s get back to business!

Hi Dan. Good luck with everything! I wrote a post with tips about the PPL theory test a while ago. It’s from an Australian perspective, but most of it should apply to other countries as well. Hope it helps! Julien.
Thanks for reminding me of it, Julien. I remember reading it and I’ll make sure to go over it again.
